IN EPHESIANS 2:8,9 WE READ "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." Thank God, Salvation is of the Lord; therefore salvation is by grace, all of grace. No works can bring it. It is by God's mercy and grace that one can be saved. Grace is God's unmerited favor toward us. That means He gives to us though we do not deserve it. It is unmerited. Titus 3,4 tells us that it is the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man. Under the Law of Moses, God demanded righteousness from man, but under grace, God in Christ gives it to man. John 1:17 says, "for the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ." If you think you can earn God's grace, my friend, you are so wrong. No works can do it. It doesn't matter how good you are. You cannot earn it. It is not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy. That is the way we are saved. Salvation is a gift from God. It must be accepted by you. If you have not accepted the salvation of Jesus Christ, if you have not believed in Him, then you are lost. That is what the Bible says. It doesn't matter what man says, what man thinks. God says you are lost. But it is God's desire that you have life. He invites you to receive Jesus Christ as your Saviour. John 1:12 tells us, "as many as received Him (Jesus Christ), to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.
Have you received Jesus Christ as your Saviour? In not, do it now. Repent, believe, and be saved. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out" Acts 3:19a. "..Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, adn thou shalt be saved, and thy house". Acts 16:31b. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" Ephesians 2:8.
