A School Textbook --No Longer Allowed!
For two hundred years American public schools had a very interesting textbook. It was 'The New England Primer". Beginning readers following instructions in learning the alphabet used Bible verses as guides. The following are the first five used: A: A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother. (Proverbs 10:1). B. Better is little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasure and trouble therewith. (Proverbs 15:16). C. Come unto Me (Christ) all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28). D. Do not this abominable thing which I hate. (Jeremiah 44:4). E. Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3). This no doubt aided in the Key to America's greatness.
A Better World The little girl stopped, looked up and said in her tiny voice so sweet, "I had a dream. I dreamed everybody walked in peace and love. Wouldn't that be great! Yes, a wonderful dream indeed! One that will one day come true. When Jesus comes to reign, we'll see just that! Imagine what a wonderful place it will be! Until He does, my prayer is that we, His children, will walk in the light of His love and reflect that love to those around us. Just maybe in doing so we can make this world a better place until the day He comes and makes it a perfect place. -Gene Minix
