HE IS SO VERY REAL
by Gene Minix

What man or woman has seen the wind
As it runs down from the hills?
But what man or woman would be so foolish
As to say the wind is not real?

I have never seen the Holy Spirit
With physical eyes, yet, I know He is real.
For I feel the effects of His presence
Like the wind as it runs down from the hills.

I feel the satisfying sweet comfort
That only the Holy Spirit can give.
I've never seen Him with physical eyes
But, oh, my heart knows He is so very real.

MY SWEET LORD

OH, SING OF SWEET BEULAH LAND
by Gene Minix

Thank God we are going one day
To a home so bright and fair
Where we'll walk on streets of gold
And no death or sorrow can enter there.
Oh, day of rest and gladness
Oh, day of joy and light.
In that place we call New Jerusalem
Where never will be any night.

Oh, sing of Sweet Beulah Land
So beautiful and clear!
The very sound of Heaven
Is sweet music to my ears.

One day we will reach
The shores of that land.
We'll walk by the River of Life
And see the nail scared hands
Of Jesus, our wonderful Saviour,
The One who set us free.
We'll smell the sweet perfume of Glory Land
And forever happy we will be.

Oh, sing of Sweet Beulah Land
So beautiful and clear.
The very sound of Heaven
Is sweet music to our ears.

HE PROVED HIS LOVE
by Gene Minix

How great is the love of Jesus?
Oh, listen, please listen, my friend!
The love of our precious Saviour
Is so great, it has no end!

It is taller than the mountains are high!
Deeper, much deeper, than the sea!
His love is greater than that of any man!
He proved it all that day on Calvary!

Yes, He left the splendor of Heaven,
All time knowing His destiny.
He did it to save the world from sin,
Yes, He proved His love for you and me!

A BRAND NEW DAY
by Gene Minix

Today we start a brand new day
Just as if we were born anew.
Yesterday is gone, its no longer here
And about it, nothing we can do.

Yes, we can't change yesterday,
What was or wasn't done hs been done.
Now the night has slipped away
And there's a brand new sun.

The mistakes that were made,
Let us try to learn from them.
And let us try a little harder
To seek and follow after Him.

Let us pray to the Lord
As we start out on this day
That all will be acceptable
In our actions and words we say.

Let us put away the past
And do all that we can do
To touch a life in some positive way,
Maybe take away a tear or two.

And if we have wasted yesterday,
Let us strive not to waste today.
Help us to do those things, Lord,
You'd have us do and say.

GOD'S GOT IT ALL UNDER CONTROL
by Gene Minix

I don't understand a lot of things
And why they happen like they do.
And I can't comprehend, so many times,
This old world we're passing through.
But one thing I do know,
And I'm sure as sure can be.
God's got it all under control
And that's all that matters to me.

LITTLE CHURCH ON THE HILLSIDE
by Gene Minix

There's a little church on the hillside
Overlooking the town.
Its small and nothing fancy,
Its boards are weathered and brown.

It doesn't have stained glass windows
Or a steeple reaching tall.
And it doesn't have costly art
To adorn its darken pine walls.

It has no fancy organ to play
The hymns of renown.
But when the voices lift to the sky
You can sure feel the power of God come down.

The people are so friendly
And concerned about your every care.
And the sweet, sweet Holy Spirit
Tells you God is really there!

JUST CALL UPON THE LORD IN PRAYER

by Gene Minix

Now old Satan is bound to come around
But don't let him get you down.
There's something you need to know.
Just call upon the Lord in prayer.
He will always be right there
And when the Lord's near, the devil's got to go.

Now when your enemies are all around
Calling you names and putting you down
There's something you can know is true.
Just call upon the Lord in prayer.
He will always be right there.
And He will make a way for you.

When you are burdened down and feeling low.
And it seems you've no place to go
Just call out to the Lord today.
Don't fall down under the load of care
Call on Jesus and He'll be right there
And He'll help you along the way.

And when you are old and gray
And you feel life slipping away
Don't be afraid, He'll never leave you alone.
He'll go with you all the way
And you will hear the Lord say,
Come on in to Heaven, my child, welcome home!

FROM THAT OLD ROCKER ON THE LITTLE FRONT PORCH

by Gene Minix

Her house sat near the sidewalk
Just a little house, now faded white.
And on a little front porch with cracked boards,
She'd sit there in the early morning sunlight.
A rocking in that old high back rocker.

Hey, Granny, we'd call, she wasn't our granny
But out of love and respect we called her that.
She'd nod her head and she'd smile
From the old rocker where she sat.
From the old rocker on the little porch.

She always had a kind word for us.
Maybe some homemade cookies she'd share.
All wrapped up in love
From the one in that rocking chair.
That old rocker where she sat.

She's been gone a long time now.
The years have moved along.
But sometime when I pass that little house
I can almost hear her singing a Gospel song.
Amazing Grace how sweet the sound.

I know one thing for sure
She told me much I needed to know.
She was everybody's granny
And we all loved her so.
She spoke to our hearts from that old rocking chair.

I'll be a much wiser man as I walk
Through the years day by day.
Because of Granny who loved us so
And the words of wisdom she had to say.
Thank God for Granny who spoke to our hearts from that rocking chair.
